Darran Fernandez

Mr. Darran Fernandez has been a member of the UBC community since 2008.  He is currently the Associate Registrar and Director of the Student Support & Advising unit in Enrolment Services, overseeing advising, financial aid, awards and scholarships for students on the Vancouver campus.

He is an active contributor to the campus community, as an alumnus of the Faculty of Education (MEd, Higher Education – Student Affairs and Institutional Policy), a former member of the Vancouver Senate, and through a number of cross-campus working groups.

Darran remains connected to his local community through work with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver and as a grant adjudicator for youth programs funded by Coast Capital Savings.  He’s originally from southern Ontario, and holds an undergraduate degree from Carleton University, where he started his career in student affairs.  Prior to that, Darran was a public servant in the House of Commons in both Ottawa and London, England, providing legislative, policy and media support to Members of Parliament.
