Staff, Visitors and Press at Open Meetings
The Board of Governors is committed to the principle of accountability to the students, faculty, and staff of The University of British Columbia, as well as to the public which is served by the University, and demonstrates this commitment by conducting its public business at meetings which are open to the public. Recordings of open Board of Governors meetings are available for one year.
Certain matters are of a confidential nature and should be handled with due and appropriate sensitivity; in this regard, the Board is guided by the Board Meetings Policy (GA8).
In accordance with the Board’s meeting rules, members of the public who wish to attend an open in-person meeting of the Board of Governors must register by email to board.secretariat@ubc.ca at least two business days in advance of the meeting. The number of visitors that can be accommodated at open Board meetings is limited by space availability. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
