Andrea Reimer is the Owner and Principal of Strait Communications, Practicum Supervisor with Simon Fraser University and a Fellow in the Practice of Policy Making with The University of British Columbia. Previously Andrea was an Adjunct Professor of Practice with The University of British Columbia, an Instructor in Dialogue and Civic Engagement with Simon Fraser University, and City Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of Vancouver.
Active in her community, Andrea is a Councillor for World Future Council, a Board Member of Winch Institute, and on the Governance Committee for Loeb Fellowship Alumni Association. Andrea was a Founding Member of BC Municipal Climate Leadership Council and a Culture Shift Advisory Committee Member with the YWCA.
She has received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award and the World Green Building Council Chairman’s Award.
Andrea is a Loeb Fellow in Advanced Environmental Studies from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and holds a Certificate in Graphic Design, Non-Profit Fundraising and Non-Profit Management from Vancouver Community College.
