Meetings

Five regular meetings of the the Board of Governors are held between September and June each year.  Committee meetings are held one to two weeks before each regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Governors.

Open & Closed Parts of Meetings

The Board of Governors is committed to the principle of accountability to the students, faculty, and staff of The University of British Columbia, as well as to the public which is served by the University, and  demonstrates this commitment by conducting its public business at meetings which are open to the public.  Webcasts of open Board of Governors meetings are available for one year.
Certain matters are of a confidential nature and should be handled with due and appropriate sensitivity; in this regard, the Board is guided by Policy #93 (Closed Meetings of the Board of Governors)

Staff, Visitors and Press at Meetings (Open)

The number of staff and committee representatives and their professional advisors attending varies depending on the requirements of the Board at each meeting.

The number of visitors at Board meetings is limited by space availability.
