Staff, Visitors and Press at Open Meetings

The Board of Governors is committed to the principle of accountability to the students, faculty, and staff of The University of British Columbia, as well as to the public which is served by the University, and demonstrates this commitment by conducting its public business at meetings which are open to the public.  Recordings of open Board of Governors meetings are available for one year. With respect to confidential matters, the Board is guided by the Board Meetings Policy (GA8) and UBC Board of Governors’ Meeting Rules and Practices (see Repository of Board of Governors Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Guidelines).

Unless otherwise indicated, Committee meetings are held virtually, and in-person Board of Governors meetings are held at UBC Vancouver. Meeting dates may change without notice.

Space constraints limit the number of visitors that can be accommodated at open in-person Board meetings. In accordance with the Board’s Meeting Rules, members of the public who wish to attend an open in-person meeting of the Board of Governors must register by email at least two business days in advance of the meeting. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
