UBC Stewardship Statement
It is the responsibility of every UBC person to comply with the underlying policies and procedures, and to exercise sound stewardship of public resources.

Published by UBC Human Resources, the Summary of UBC Policies & Expectations for UBC Faculty & Staff summarizes the standards of behaviour expected of all UBC persons and is maintained as an information resource for UBC employees and the general public. It highlights the key principles and rules which UBC persons are expected to follow, provides links to relevant policies and other documents, and is intended to provide an overview of existing UBC policies and procedures. It is not a replacement for existing UBC Policies and, if there is any conflict between the document and UBC Policies, the applicable UBC Policies will govern.
The Summary of UBC Policies & Expectations for UBC Faculty & Staff also summarizes the various compliance mechanisms within UBC and highlights where concerns about possible breaches of UBC policies and procedures can be reported.
Freedom from Harassment & Discrimination
The University of British Columbia is committed to providing a collegial, safe and pleasant working and learning environment for all members of the University community, one that respects differences, champions fair treatment, and celebrates diversity. The University does not condone and will not tolerate acts of discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment.
All members of the UBC community – students, faculty, staff, and visitors – have a responsibility to respect the rights of others and to cooperate in creating and maintaining an environment that is free of harassment and discrimination.
