Ali Pejman

Mr. Pejman is a Partner at Fort Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank.  He has worked with mining executives over the course of his 23-year investment banking career, leading financings exceeding $5.0 billion and M&A mandates over $25 billion.

Mr. Pejman is an active angel investor; Co-Founder of the Field & Social restaurant chain; Chairman of Network Media Group; and serves in directorship positions on several public company boards.

His impact extends beyond the corporate world as the Chair, Major Gifts, VGH-UBC Hospital Foundation Board, and as a Director on the Arts Club Theatre Board of Directors.  Additionally, Mr. Pejman served full terms on the boards of the Metro Vancouver Transit Police and of Science World.  He also mentors and judges for programs such as the Forum of Women Entrepreneurs; Coast Mental Health’s Courage to Come Back Awards; and Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Mr. Pejman has led significant fundraising campaigns, most recently the $3.7M “Pejman & Friends Epilepsy Fellowship and Research Initiative” for VGH/BC Children’s Hospital Foundation in 2021.

Further to his professional and philanthropic engagements, Mr. Pejman contributes to the growth of early-stage technology companies through his role as an Associate Mentor with the Creative Destruction Lab at UBC’s Sauder School of Business.

In 2013, he was recognized by the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants as a Fellow, an honour that is bestowed on a select group of members who have brought pride to the profession.  In 2009, he earned a spot in the Globe & Mail’s “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40”, and he has been a recipient of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Spirit of Generosity Award; the UBC Alumni Builder Award; and the Big Brothers Harwood Award.

Mr. Pejman has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of British Columbia and, in 1997, received a Chartered Professional Accountant designation from the Chartered Accountants Institute of British Columbia. Further, he completed the In-Depth Taxation program in 1999.
