Ms. Isabella Bravo is a third-year Management student at The University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus. In addition to her studies, Isabella served as the Deputy Returning Officer for the UBC Students’ Union, where she provided efficient administration and management for the 2023-24 UBC Student Union General Elections and will assist in managing the 2023 SUO by-elections. Her role at the SUO showcases her meticulous attention to detail regarding organizational regulations and UBC’s policies and the student code of conduct.
Isabella’s leadership and management abilities are further evidenced by her position as Co-President of the Marketing Club. In this role, she creates interactive and educational events in marketing expertise targeted to all students interested in different niches and sectors of the marketing field. Her previous work experiences in marketing include serving as a Marketing Communications Manager at a family-owned hotel chain in Nicaragua, freelancing as a digital media marketer, and working as a Marketing Coordinator for the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce. In her role at the Chamber, she created digital content, provided marketing insights into important decisions, and formulated the marketing plan for the 2022-2023 year. Bravo credits her passion for leadership to her extensive debate background in secondary school in both Managua, Nicaragua and Nova Scotia, Canada, which has won her recognition at internationally renowned debate conferences such as HACIA (Harvard Association for Cultivating Inter-American Democracy) from Harvard University and Model UN among other University-run conferences representing her high school.
Furthermore, Bravo is currently the Head of Marketing for RentalHunt, a tech start-up company founded by herself and her peers. RentalHunt is a next-generation rental platform (via app) powered and automated by Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technology. The company is certified by Google, The@Company, Microsoft, and other entities and aims to match potential tenants with their perfect rental and landlords with responsible tenants. RentalHunt is also a venture cohort at entrepreneurship@UBCO.
