Eshana Bhangu

Ms. Eshana Bhangu is a fourth-year international relations student.

Eshana has served the Alma Mater Society, the student society representing all 60,000 UBC Vancouver students, as both President and Vice-President Academic & University Affairs. She also served on the UBC Vancouver Senate for three years, during which time she chaired the Budget-Sub Committee and served as Vice-Chair of the Vancouver Senate.  In her tenure, she successfully worked with the UBC Administration to secure millions of dollars towards targeted and data-driven student priorities, including significant upgrades to lecture capture technology, financial aid, food insecurity relief initiatives, and more.

At the AMS, Eshana led the creation of a five-year strategic plan, implemented a new ERP system, conducted organization-wide restructures of governance, management, and service delivery, and led a business strategy to reduce the operational deficit by over half a million dollars coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
