Elected by Students, Faculty & Staff
Members of the UBC Board of Governors represent a diversity of backgrounds and bring to the Board the views of their various constituencies; decisions are ultimately made in the best overall interest of the University.
Election of faculty members and non-academic staff is overseen by Senate and Curriculum Services.
Elected faculty members and other employees are elected to serve a three-year term.
Faculty members and other employees may be elected to a second three-year term, for a maximum of six consecutive years, although a term may be extended until a successor is found if necessary.
Students are elected to the Board of Governors for one-year terms, for a maximum of six consecutive years; elections are included in annual student government election processes.
